Sandra Withrow-Orr’s love for God is expressed not only in her lifestyle but also through her melodious gift in song. For years Sandra’s unique rich voice has excited and drawn many listeners into heartfelt worship and praise. Singing since the age of 10, Sandra never tires of ministering to others in worship to God. She uses her gift in song to minister to those who are hurting, in need of healing and a Word from God. And just as the Psalmist King David wrote and sang unto the Lord, Sandra also writes and sings songs that are based on life experiences and Gods Word.
In her teens Sandra sang in the senior choir at First Baptist Church (FBC), Berea Ohio. Then later, in the 1970’s she joined her first singing group called the Shining Stars, a small gospel group that sang at churches, nursing homes and prisons. Sandra has directed choir and ministered on praise and worship teams for over three decades. Sandra has been blessed to sing at numerous conferences, camp meetings and song fest all over the United States. Sandra has had the privilege of singing with and on the same platform with people such as: Byron Gage at the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship Convention; Calvin Hunt, formerly of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and Herb Thomas, of H-Factor productions, Cleveland Ohio. In June 2010 Sandra sang at the Applause International Showcase (AIS) in Orlando Florida where she placed first in the showcase. But for Sandra the true highlight of the AIS was being able to minister to all the people there. God you are awesome!
Sandra released her first CD “Dwelling Place” several years ago and she is so blessed to be announcing the debut of her first video for her newly released single “I Slip Into Your Presence.”
A native of Berea Ohio, Sandra is blessed with a lovely daughter Sucada, a wonderful son-in-law Quinton and three grandchildren, Sabien, Madison, and Maxwell. Her parents Joddie and Edna who raised her and five other siblings to worship the Lord are also musically inclined sing praises to God. Joddie Lott, “Pop”, (now deceased) sang with several Gospel groups and recorded his first 45 LP in the late 50’s. And “Ma Edna” sang in the Senior Choir at FBC for over 60 years. In 2008 Sandra married her lifelong friend, Richard Orr.
At present Sandra continues to do what she loves best, ministering to others about the love of Jesus Christ. Sandra visits and ministers to both men and women who are incarcerated and continues to travel to various churches and events singing and teaching about the love of God and the magnitude of praise and worship. Sandra will soon be releasing a line of greeting cards and her new book entitled “You Think It Is Hard Being Single, and Saved, It Can Be Done.”
